What is the best magazine or website to find out about indie music?

Here’s a music publicity question, care of Yahoo Answers (and WordPress Direct software):

I want to find out about band that are not played in the radio here in LA. thanks.

Bottom line. Pure Volume http://www.purevolume.com/ has the best indie band info, downloads and ease of use to find new artists and explore new types of music. Check ‘em out.

    Try http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/ Their reviews are usually pretty helpful and they have a lot about indie bands.
