Music Publicity Blog Case Study - Entry #2
Here in my music publicity blog at musicpublicityblog.com, I am pooped! I wrote thousands of words yesterday because my fingers were on fire, and I kept wanting to blog - it was crazy!
Then this morning, I needed to create a superquick blog for a NYC Accountant, and I did it - just like that! Thanks to the skills I learned in the free Thirty Day Challenge. I researched the market, found keywords, bought a domain, and blogged two posts already. What???? WordPress Direct is sick software, that’s all I gotta say. And don’t get me started on Market Samurai. All I know is that I was able to create a blog website today, in two hours, from marketing to blogging two posts. I didn’t have to call a webmaster. I didn’t have to find a graphic designer that knew html. I did it on my own. And that was pretty cool.
But it’s no wonder why I’m ready for a nap!
Anyway, here are today’s current statistics for musicpublicityblog.com:
- Google Page Rank: #42 out of 35,000 competing pages for exact match
So I did slip to Google’s page 5 (me and my big mouth!) But I still have more off-page optimization tasks to do. I expect to rise in ranking, although I’m not sure how far I’ll get. This isn’t because I doubt the techniques, but because “music publicity” had less than 32,000 pages a month ago. If micro-niches should have less than 30,000 competing pages, I’ll see if this makes a difference.
- Number of yesterday’s visitors: 12
- Affiliate Sales: $0
On the positive side, I feel like yesterday was a great day for writing, and providing lots of search engine food. With all of the new content written and posted yesterday, I have a feeling that I’ll move up in page rank. For one thing, the “Music Publicity Tip: Diversify” post from two days ago got indexed quickly.
This post quickly caught the attention of a few people online, not to mention the pingbacks I received, so Google knows the site is here. Yesterday’s main objective was to get this site set up with original content on music publicity, and understand how to use the content management system of WordPress Direct. With those basic skills ready to go, I can really work the Thirty Day Challenge.
Thanks for visiting the musicpublicityblog.com today. There’s a pillow with my name on it.
